Expecting in 2009/Determing Due Dates
How appropriate that as I start a new blog about birthing that I find I am pregnant once again. I have 6 beautiful children with all great birth stories and I'm excited to add #7. One of the first things I asked when I realized I was pregnant is "When is this baby due?" I went immediately to my pregnancy calendar wheel and found that August 15 is the "day." Now, I hold this date loosely because I have not yet had a baby arrive on "the" day. Also, the pregnancy wheel takes the first day of your last period and assumes you ovulate on day 14 of your 28 day cycle, then adds 266 days. Babies are considered full term at 37 weeks, but many wait until 42 weeks. So, I'm saying I'm due in August.
